We Support Recovery is a nonprofit Recovery Community Organization in NW Wisconsin serving Polk, Barron and St. Croix counties.

Why do we do this important work? Bob and Stacy Hilde founded We Support Recovery to support people and families on their road to recovery. We have seen our loved ones struggle with addiction to alcohol and drugs, and we personally knew 4 people who lost their lives to overdose. In his own journey, Bob has been in long-term recovery for 18 years! Recovery allowed Bob to be a great dad and husband, become a business owner, raise two foster boys, and give back to the community. 

Connection & Recovery: We connect people and families in recovery with peer support by providing FREE recovery coaching, hosting monthly sober events and by connecting people to community resources such as treatment, recovery meetings, employment, and housing assistance. In our Community Reintegration Program, our recovery coach meets with individuals preparing to exit Polk County Jail. Through our recovery text list, we share local recovery events and programs with nearly 200 people in NW WI. 

Exciting New Event in 2024!: We Support Recovery hosted our 1st annual St. Croix Valley OkSOBERfest on September 28, 2024 at Polk County Fairgrounds to provide a healthy, fun, alcohol-free festival for people in recovery, families, and recovery supporters. We featured speakers, recovery comics, great music, food trucks and a bouncy house village!

Prevention & Harm Reduction: We give out Deterra bags to safely dispose of unused stimulant and opioid medications, and we provide Narcan and training for opioid overdose reversal. We help you save lives!

Collaboration: We partner with recovery community peers, businesses, churches, agencies, counties, and coalitions to tackle barriers to recovery such as housing, transportation, and access to recovery support for substance use and mental health.
